Having served in full time church ministry for over two decades, Andrew is the newest staff member to join the Koinos Community. His desire is to see Koinos flourish as more people discover their identity in Christ and their role in His plans. Andrew enjoys Iron and Wine, black coffee, the big screen on a little screen and well-crafted writing. He has a Marketing Degree and has completed his Master’s of Divinity at Southwestern Seminary. Andrew and his wife, Carmen have a son, Cole, a college student and a daughter, Claire, a high school Junior.
After serving with Kid Street for a number of years, she is excited to start this new chapter — getting to know and serve the families at Koinos. Erin has been involved in Children’s Ministry ever since she was a teenager. “I love the way Jesus works in the lives of children. His story is simple, joyful and full of hope. I love being a part of discovering it with the children and seeing it from their perspective. Spending time with the kids as they learn about God is a great way to remind myself of why Jesus said we should all have the faith of a child.” After growing up in Berks County, Erin traveled all over the world as a flyer in the Air Force. She graduated from Penn State. When she is not working for Koinos, Erin works in Marketing and Photography. She lives in Bernville with her husband Mitch and kids, Reid and Maggie. When she’s not working she’s always reading something, growing something, or making something.
Student Ministry Director
Dan lives in Reading with his wife Mallory, daughter Violet, and their dog Ruby. His B.A. in Marketing and M.A. in Human Services Counseling led him to a full-time job with Merrill Lynch in addition to his work with the teenagers in our community. When he isn’t hanging out with the 7th-12th graders at Koinos, he can be found going to concerts and listening to music ranging from indie rock to metal to hip-hop, watching Futurama and Breaking Bad, or reading Ta-Nehisi Coates and The Lord of the Rings. Dan seeks to embody the words of Henri Nouwen: “A blessing is the most significant form of affirmation we can offer…it is to say ‘yes’ to a person’s belovedness…to give a blessing creates the reality of which it speaks.”
Dave has benefited from the kindness and hospitality of Christian communities throughout his life, which is one reason why he is passionate for the mission of the Deacon Team. He has worked as campus minister with Christian Student Fellowship at Penn State Berks for twelve years. Dave and his wife Emily have two kids, Junia and Elijah. In his spare time Dave loves reading (everything from theology and history to fiction and biographies) and is proud to say he was a fan of Game of Thrones before it was cool. In his spare time he enjoys embracing his inner nerdiness by watching shows like Doctor Who or playing a good game of Catan with friends.
Jess and Adam Christman lead the Koinos ministry for 4th through 6th graders. They strive to create an environment that helps kids to build friendships and that fosters an awareness of others’ needs. Jess teaches chemistry and environmental science at Twin Valley High School, and Adam works at East Penn Manufacturing. Both share an affinity for nature and enjoy hiking and traveling. Adam also loves to ski and regularly geeks out on the weather.
