Community Ministry Teams

As we open our lives to the mission and message of Jesus of Nazareth, we find ourselves compelled to befriend and serve our local neighbors, many of whom do not necessarily share our beliefs.  At Koinos, this calling is formally led by our Community Ministry Team (CMT).  The CMT bands together to lovingly and practically care for those who are outside of our community of faith.  Crucially, the CMT is completely envisioned, planned, and led by non-staff volunteers.  We believe that some of the most life-giving works of the Spirit come through everyday people and this is a large part of how Church should be.  Depending on the season, the CMT may be involved in various activities: throwing a Harvest Party for struggling families at the 10th and Green Elementary School in Reading; administering a large collection from suburban neighborhoods for abused women and children at Berks Women in Crisis; or possibly even visiting and encouraging lonely souls in a nursing facility.
