Brian has a B.S. in Biblical Studies, a M.A. in Ministry Leadership, and a Doctorate in Leadership and Culture. Brian loves to cheer on his hometown Buckeyes in football and basketball, to kick back and take in an indie film, and is an avid reader of philosophy, psychology, and cultural history. Jarred Garber - Associate Pastor of Community Formation
A Senior Account Manager in commercial printing by day, Jarred loves serving at Koinos "Because it is a constant reminder that life is about something more than me." Jarred enjoys archery and hunting, landscaping and dirty work, and unwinds with Zac Brown Band and Pearl Jam on the iPod or Larry David's Seinfeld and Curb Your Enthusiasm on the tube. He admires Desmond Tutu and Mother Teresa and loves simply "doing things well." Jarred is married to Annette, and is the father of Dylan and Jaida.
Sherian Henry - Children's Ministry Director
A former third grade teacher, Sherian is a devoted student of issues relating to children and parenting. She is happy to serve the children and parents of Koinos because she believes "That life and happiness are more abundantly found when you are thinking of others before yourself." A fan of Norah Jones, Susan Tedeschi, U2 and the film What's Eating Gilbert Grape, Sherian also enjoys kayaking and camping. A passionate advocate of children growing up without the overexposure of technology and commercialism, Sherian avoids texting at all costs. Sherian is married to Adam, and is the mother of Gabriel and Sadie.
Cindy Battito - Finance & Administration Coordinator
Previously working as an accounting and office assistant, Cindy makes sure many details happen smoothly and legally at Koinos. She enjoys watching NCIS and watching the Wizard of Oz or Monte Python's Holy Grail for the umpteenth time. She believes deeply that "a little kindness goes a long way" while admitting she has no patience for clutter. Cindy enjoys serving at Koinos because our community is her "family." Cindy is married to Sean, and is the mother of Cameron and Kari Ann.
Dave Kim - Worship Leader
Dave leads the worship team at Koinos, when he is not working as a Senior Financial Advisor at Merrill Lynch. Previously a technology consultant and audio production manager, Dave's taste in music is broad. You may find him listening to Death Cab for Cutie, Rage Against the Machine, and even Chopin. He enjoys riding his Triumph motorcycle, finding a killer bargain, and reading Watchman Nee and David Sedaris. Dave is married to Sarah, and is the father of Andie and Trey.
Jess Fluck - Avenue46 Director
Jess oversees the Koinos ministry to 4th through 6th graders because she believes in giving back to the community. She is also an avid hiker, reader, and fan of NBC's The Office.
Peter & Mary Ann Schaefer - Highway712 Directors
Peter and Mary Ann lead the youth ministry at Koinos and are known in Berks County for their many years coaching cross country and track at Conrad Weiser High School. They believe "Koinos is a church of 'real' people, who love the Lord and care for others." Professionally, Peter works as a manager of member relations with a milk producers cooperative and Mary Ann works at an Arthritis and Osteoporosis Center. Previously, Mary Ann served as a Christian Education Director at another ministry. They both love to split wood and to work in the garden. They unwind by spending time together watching Clint Eastwood films. Peter and Mary Ann are the parents of Jes (married to Matt) and Courey.
